INSTALLATION:
=============

The BATES' VISUAL GUIDE TO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION (4TH EDITION) Web site was designed to work under virtually any Web server operating system.

The BATES' VISUAL GUIDE TO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION (4TH EDITION) Web site can be viewed on any PC installed with Windows98 SP2, Windows2000, Windows ME, or Windows XP.

The Web site also requires Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher or FireFox 4.0 or higher. Users experiencing problems with video playback should configure their browser to enable JavaScript.

-- Internet Explorer users can enable JavaScript by selecting the TOOLS menu, then INTERNET OPTIONS. Then they should click the SECURITY tab, click on the INTERNET content zone icon, and then select the CUSTOM LEVEL button. Within the SECURITY SETTINGS window, they should scroll down to the SCRIPTING/ACTIVE SCRIPTING setting and enable ACTIVE SCRIPTING.

Please note: Some antivirus applications (e.g., McAfee, Norton) contain a script blocking feature that disables JavaScript without seeming to affect the settings on the user's Web browser. If your browser settings indicate that JavaScript is enabled, but the videos still do not play, consult the documentation for your antivirus software to determine whether this script blocking feature can or should be disabled/bypassed.

Client computers should have more than 64MB of RAM and a CPU speed faster than 800Mhz. A broadband Internet connection to the server is required to play the 256Kbps files. Monitors should be set to 24-bits and a screen resolution of 640x480 or higher (800x600 is recommended, although video files will appear larger on monitors at 640x480). A sound card is required.
